About Us

Greets Green Community Enterprises (GGCE) is a registered charity managing Wood Lane Community Centre and other community assets in West Bromwich. We support local residents through affordable childcare, youth activities, adult training, ESOL, health & wellbeing programmes, and community regeneration projects.

We are seeking a

Fundraising & Community Support Officer

who can combine strong organisational skills with fundraising know-how. This unique role blends

frontline community centre administration

with

income generation and bid writing

, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our centre while helping to secure the funding that sustains it.

Job Purpose

To deliver efficient front office and administrative support while also developing and implementing fundraising strategies to grow GGCE's income. You will welcome visitors, manage bookings, and support community activities, while also researching funding opportunities, writing bids, and cultivating funder relationships.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Fundraising & Income Generation



Research and identify funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, corporates, and local government. Write and submit high-quality funding bids and proposals. Support the CEO and board with long-term fundraising strategies. Develop local fundraising initiatives, including community events, sponsorships, and donor campaigns. Maintain records of funding applications, deadlines, and outcomes. Report back to funders with accurate monitoring and evaluation.

Community Centre Administration



Act as first point of contact for visitors, residents, and service users, ensuring a welcoming environment. Answer telephone calls, respond to emails, and handle enquiries. Manage room bookings and keep diaries and records up to date. Provide secretarial support including typing letters, preparing reports, and taking minutes. Support with data collection on attendance, outcomes, and impact for both centre operations and funded projects.

Community Support & Development



Help plan and deliver grant-funded projects and community activities. Support residents with digital skills and access to online services. Assist with marketing and communications (social media, newsletters, flyers). Work with volunteers, local partners, and residents to increase participation.

Safeguarding & Health & Safety



Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection policies. Assist with room setups and safety checks. Report any safeguarding or health & safety concerns promptly.
Person Specification

Essential



Proven experience in fundraising or bid writing with successful outcomes. Strong administration and organisational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Friendly, professional, and community-minded. Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable



Experience in a community centre or charity setting. Knowledge of local and national funding streams. Experience in social media/marketing. Experience supporting volunteers and community projects.
