We are seeking an enthusiastic person to support a range of fundraising initiatives within QAC's Fundraising Department



Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: 52 weeks

Annual Leave: 7.2 weeks, including Bank Holidays.



Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must have a full current driving licence.

Key Responsibilities



Key Responsibilities:

Research and promote a range of suitable challenge based events, supporting the administration and registrations as required. Respond to and support community fundraisers. Maintain relationships with regular donors. Ensure good stewardship of supporters including thank you letters, charity updates etc in line with GDPR. Manage information and utilise the CRM system for recording of data. Provide updates and graphics for the website and social media platforms. Work with fundraisers to obtain case studies/fundraiser profiles where possible. Support the running of campaigns and events. Actively support the organisation with fundraising events and initiatives (internal and external) to support the charity in all areas (college, residential services and community services. Monitor JustGiving Pages and follow up on activity as appropriate. Support in the development and management of community and stakeholder opportunities Support the creation of external promotional materials relating to fundraising events and initiatives. Work as part of the Fundraising Team supporting activities as and when the need arises. Respond to fundraising queries via email or the phone in a timely manner. Spot fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of the work of QAC. Assist the Trust and Corporate Fundraiser with small to mid value Grant Applications.

Other Responsibilities:

Assist in providing efficient administration support to the Fundraising team To support the general running of the office and to support other colleagues as and when required. To have experience of producing fundraising/promotional literature e.g. leaflets and brochures


Considerations:The Fundraising Team is small, working closely with other teams including Marketing, Enterprises and Curriculum, so flexibility in approach is a must. Some periods will be busier than others, for example events seasons, student performance times, so prioritisation and flexibility will be needed.

Undertake any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as required by the Charity.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





Educated to a high standard with excellent literacy and numeracy skills Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present confidently to a variety of audiences and adapt approach to best meet the needs of the audience Excellent IT skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. to support efficient communication and recording of information Well-developed administrative and organisational skills with a proven ability to pay attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to unexpected requests, prioritise work to meet deadlines and targets Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with a friendly and professional approach, both internal and external stakeholders Evidence of strong English language skills (verbal, reading and writing) Some events may require evening and /or weekend working Experience of using design software and to have experience of producing fundraising/promotional literature e.g. leaflets and brochures Experience of planning and delivering events (face-to-face and virtual) Experience in building relationships with a variety of organisations and/or individuals Previous experience or knowledge of working in an educational and/or SEND setting

Queen Alexandra Charity (QAC) provides education, residential support, community services and enterprises in support of young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.



Education is provided through a national residential College that supports a diverse range of student/client abilities and needs. Our College provides education, training, routes to independent living and employment through an innovative, holistic approach to learning and support. It offers a vibrant, varied and fun educational experience for both residential and day students. Our curriculum aims to maximise adult life, independence and work opportunities for all students. We have educational and learning sites based in Birmingham, one of Europe's most welcoming and vibrant cities, with a rich and diverse culture. Our main site is based in Harborne, a pleasant leafy Birmingham suburb, on a friendly and green 8-acre campus with excellent facilities and resources. In addition we also have Pinewood Campus which is located on a business park and is designated to employment progression.



Clients within our Residential Services programme still require support and the aim is to deliver a service that provides them with the means to live independently/semi independently into the future. Many clients are either in education, voluntary work or paid employment not linked to QAC directly.



Our Community Services based at our Umberslade Campus in Stirchley include a supporter worker service, women's group, men's group, LGBTQ plus group, Saturday Socials, The Night Owl Experience (disability friendly night club visit in Birmingham City Centre).

All students, clients and staff are supported within safe and well-resourced environments.
