Strength & Learning Through Horses provides mental health and education support to some of London's most vulnerable young people through offering equine assisted therapy and alternative education programmes. Strength & Learning Through Horses has been in operation for over 10 years and has grown year on year in terms of income and number of young people reached and number of services we offer.
400 - 500 young people per year benefit from our life changing services at our centre in Barnet, North London. We have planning permission to develop our site to create purpose build facilities with capacity to help over 700 young people per year and ambitious longer term plans for growth to share our model with other centres across the UK.
We have 5 full time and 5 part time contracted staff members, 18 freelance staff members and work with 17 volunteers.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
To make the dream of completing our site development and expanding capacity a reality we are looking for an ambitious graduate to help us implement our fundraising and marketing strategy to support our transition to the next phase of growth.
This graduate staff member will sit in the Fundraising team working with the CEO and Community Engagement Manager to implement a capital fundraising campaign to raise 700,000 over 2 years in order to fund the build and to secure longer term funding to secure the financial sustainability of the charity over the long term.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the charity at a time of growth and change and an opportunity for someone to really make this role their own with opportunities to develop and grow within the role as the organisation grows.
SKILLS AND QUALITIES REQUIRED:
Driven and ambitious, both in personal career goals and in achieving and surpassing fundraising targets.
Sales, marketing or fundraising experience is desirable but not essential.
Excellent written skills to tell our story to funders is essential
Confident communicating with a wide range of individuals including senior and influential people including presenting and networking
Self-motivating and able to work on own initiative
Self-motivated and able to work independently on fundraising projects including:
Inputting to fundraising strategy
Reporting efficiently on progress
