Purpose of the Role

To deliver grassroots fundraising activity that raises significant income for Forgotten Women's global projects. The Fundraiser will represent the charity in communities, events, and mosques, building relationships with donors, volunteers, and local partners to help achieve the charity's ambitious growth.

The role will focus on personal fundraising, event delivery, and volunteer mobilisation, while upholding safeguarding and dignity-first principles.

Key Responsibilities

1) Community & Volunteer Fundraising

Recruit, motivate, and support volunteers to deliver collections, events, and challenges. Lead local fundraising campaigns through mosques, Islamic societies (ISocs), and community groups. Build long-term relationships with donors and partners to increase retention and repeat giving. Support volunteer-led activities with fundraising toolkits and digital support.

2) Events & Campaigns

Plan and deliver fundraising events including but not limited to iftars, comedy nights, and community challenges. Represent Forgotten Women at external events, exhibitions, and charity fairs. Work with the Operations Officer to manage logistics, stock, and materials for events. Support regional rollout of flagship campaigns (e.g., Ramadan, Gaza Appeals, Deployments).

3) Income Generation

Achieve an annual personal fundraising target of

250-350k

. Support the community fundraising team in reaching collective targets across events and volunteers. Generate new donor leads and convert one-time supporters into regular givers. Use peer-to-peer fundraising platforms (Givebrite, JustGiving, Launchgood) effectively.

4) Partnerships & Outreach

Build partnerships with mosques, community organisations, and student groups. Liaise with local businesses and corporates for sponsorship and match-funding opportunities. Represent Forgotten Women in the community and uphold the charity's values and safeguarding standards.

5) Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and Operations Officer to ensure campaigns run smoothly. Maintain accurate records of donations and activities in the CRM system. Report on income, engagement, and activity monthly or when required.

Person Specification

Essential

Proven experience in community or events fundraising. Excellent communication and public-speaking skills. Confident building relationships with community groups and donors. Strong organisational and planning skills. Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as required.

Desirable

Experience in Islamic fundraising or working with mosques/universities. Knowledge of fundraising compliance and safeguarding. Experience with online fundraising tools and CRM systems.

KPIs & Targets

Annual target:

250-350k raised through events, challenges, and community activities.

Volunteer engagement:

50+ volunteers supported in active fundraising annually.

Community partnerships:

30+ active mosque/university/community relationships maintained.

Retention:

10% of event donors converted to monthly givers.

Safeguarding:

100% compliance with Forgotten Women's safeguarding and consent policies.

Safeguarding, Values & Conduct

Ensure all fundraising is conducted with respect, transparency, and dignity for beneficiaries. Attend safeguarding and compliance training. Act as an ambassador for Forgotten Women's values of compassion, accountability, and empowerment.
