Job Description

Reynolds Funeral Service requires a full time Funeral Service Operative. Duties to include Chauffeur / Bearer and the successful applicant must be willing to participate in all aspects of the trade including participating in an out of hour's duty rota.

The applicant needs to reside in the local area, be of smart appearance and have a clean driving licence.

They will possess a caring nature and be dignified at all times.

The position offers a good salary with Pension contribution and Private Health Insurance, Birthday off, after the qualifying period(s).

Duties include:

Conveyance of deceased persons to our private Chapels of Rest.

First Offices of deceased.

Care of floral tributes

Driving and maintenance of hearses, limousines, and other funeral vehicles.

Bearing at funerals.

Preparation and the fitting coffins

Willing to learn the maintenance and cleaning of memorial headstones and tablets.

Required Attributes / Skills:

To be of smart appearance

Physical fitness is a must!

Ability and flexibility to work as part of a team.

Ability to work rota of out of hour's duties.

Meticulous attention to detail.

Sympathetic and caring nature.

Good basic knowledge of local area and must be a safe and competent driver

Ability to communicate effectively

Hours:

The daily start and finish times and the days of the week worked may be subject to change, due to our requirements and we are looking for someone who is flexible about their hours of work; (this will be discussed at interview)

Normal working day 8.00 am - 5.00 pm

Must be available at any time of day or night, including weekends for on call duties.

You must accept that this is no 'ordinary' job with set hours of work. The funeral service operates 24 Hours a day, 365 days of the year in all weathers and in any circumstances. Death is no respecter of Bank Holidays, personal situations, or private lives.

Training:

Training is on-the-job, working alongside our experienced team of Funeral Directors
