Diggin Furniture is a well-established Dalkeith based workshop known for our exceptional craftsmanship, bespoke furniture pieces and high quality fitted and freestanding furniture.

With a strong reputation for detail and quality we are looking for a dedicated Polisher to join our small, friendly team.

As the leading polisher at Diggin Furniture, you will play a key part in producing beautifully finished pieces that meet our high standards. A keen eye for detail and quality control are essential for this role, ensuring each item leaves our workshop looking it's absolute best.

Key Responsibilities

Operate polishing equipment and hand tools to achieve desired surface finishes on different materials such as wood, sheet materials, veneers or composites Prepare surfaces prior to polishing by cleaning, sanding, or masking as necessary Follow technical specifications and project requirements to ensure consistent quality Assist in assembly and fabrication tasks when required, ensuring components are correctly aligned and finished Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations Collaborate with highly skilled team members to support overall project goals. Inspect finished surfaces for defects or imperfections and rectify as needed.

Experience

Proven experience in spray finishing, polishing, colour mixing and finishing is a must Familiarity with power tools used in carpentry, joinery and cabinet making is advantageous Experience in working safely with chemicals and paints related to joinery finishes is essential Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team to achieve goals

Pay: 16.00-21.70 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
