Furniture Store Manager- Charity



Reporting to

: Retail Manager

Responsibility:

For all shop supporters, staff, customers, premises, cash and stock

Duties:



Ensure the aims and objectives of IAT are maintained Be responsible for shop layout, displays and prices in order to maximise revenue Ensure availability of any necessary transport and removal of rubbish Ensure the availability of literature etc to promote the work of IAT Ensure shop has adequate facilities for staff and customers Ensure all premises are maintained in a clean and tidy condition Provide all necessary direction and guidance to staff and volunteers Ensure IAT's recruitment and disciplinary procedures are followed Ensure there are adequate staff available during all opening hours Ensure shop has adequate supplies of all necessary materials and equipment Ensure staff and volunteers receive all necessary security and protection Ensure Health and Safety procedures and guidelines are observed Ensure all required reporting is provided, including timely shop sheets, and the safe and correct banking and recording of receipts Be available for any meetings with your the Retail Manager and other senior staff Ensure the handling of any customer complaints in accordance with the ethos of IAT, reporting any serious incident or situation promptly to the Area Manager & Office Manager Encourage local church support and co-operation for shops and IAT in general Prayerfully consider any areas for improvement and expansion of Sales, Community Support and Christian Witness Uphold the requirements of Trading Standards Authorities and any other matters to ensure IAT always operates within the law Not to communicate any information regarding IAT to the media without prior approval of the Director or Retail Director

Essential attributes



Retail experience Integrity and Godly character Good interpersonal/communication skills Good organisational skills A flexible approach Leadership experience and ability to work well with teams of people Good motivational skills Ability to resolve problems
It is also desirable that the successful candidate has experience of the voluntary sector and has a full clean driving licence
