Winsor Birch: The Fine Art & Sculpture Company is a gallery staged at Carden Park Hotel, Broxton Road, Chester, Cheshire and we manage, curate and represent Fine Art and Sculpture selling exhibitions.

Skills/Knowledge

Highly motivated, structured, reliable, flexible, and able to prioritise work. Previous experience in a professional office environment with good communication and people skills is required, including absolute client discretion and privacy when appropriate. You would be working with and reporting to Luke Carr (Sales and Marketing for Winsor Birch). You would be working on your own at times, so this role and your work would involve initiative, motivation, and a great deal of planning, to make sure there are always projects being processed and ready to do. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Providing exceptional client service
  • Working with colleagues at Winsor Birch and Carden Park to support the administration of sales of artwork to clients, both on-site, online and via phone/email
  • Data entry and updating the website and selling platforms
  • Creating QR codes and labels for works for sale
  • Making sure all signage is clear and relevant
  • Effective marketing and promotional activity
  • Maintaining office filing systems and keeping records up to date, including compliance records
  • Social media posts and direct mailings
  • Working with framers, restorers, insurers and shippers
  • Working with the corporate and marketing departments at Carden Park Hotel, particularly in terms of websites and cross-marketing including signage and promotion throughout the hotel
  • Working with Luke Carr on all art and sculpture related events at Carden park Hotel.
  • Making sure all art inside is hanging correctly and is secure, with security brackets, correctly listed and lights directed at pictures
  • Cleaning the sculpture in the garden
  • Checking lighting outside is directed properly and where lights have moved, fill around the spikes with sand/soil to firm up and straighten
  • Administrating and working with Luke Carr on condition checking and photographing all stock every two weeks and reporting any concerns - centralising all information on the One Drive
A typical working week would be Wednesday-Friday 9am-5pm working the occasional Saturday however flexibility across the week would be beneficial.

Required and desirable skills and experience:
  • Secretarial/Administrative experience: 2 years plus (required)
  • Ability to effectively communicate in person and by phone
  • Confident, highly presentable and with an understanding of exceptional customer service
