As our

Garage Manager

, you will lead day-to-day operations, support the team, ensure exceptional customer service and help drive the continued growth of the business.

The Role



We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Garage Manager to oversee the smooth running of our busy workshop and front desk.

You will manage:

1 Customer Service Advisor/Administrator

2 Technicians

2 Technicians/MOT Testers


This is a fast-paced, high-pressure role that suits someone who thrives on responsibility, customer interaction, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities



Workshop & Operational Management



Oversee daily garage operations including opening, closing, scheduling staff and workflow management. Allocate jobs efficiently to technicians to maximise productivity and quality output. Manage MOT, service, and repair bookings to ensure smooth throughput. Maintain stock levels, including tyres, components & Consumables Keep the workshop organised, compliant and safe (H&S adherence).

Customer Service



Provide outstanding customer service, both face-to-face and over the phone. Keep customers updated throughout the repair process. Explain repairs clearly and professionally, gaining authorisation for work. Handle complaints or issues with confidence and fairness. Produce accurate job cards, invoices and ensure all work is correctly recorded.

Leadership & People Management



Lead, motivate and support a skilled team of technicians and front-of-house staff. Conduct performance reviews, manage holidays and assist with recruitment. Promote a positive team culture built on professionalism, teamwork and continuous improvement. Support staff development and training.

Business & Admin



Use internal systems for bookings, invoicing and reporting (training provided). Assist the owner with business planning and identifying opportunities for growth. Analyse workshop performance and implement improvements. Help drive sales, achieve targets and maintain high customer satisfaction.

About You



You are passionate about the motor trade, able to run a busy garage with confidence and committed to delivering high standards every day.

Essential Requirements



We are seeking a highly dependable and conscientious individual who brings a warm, personable demeaner and a proactive, positive attitude to our team. The ideal candidate must be service-oriented and genuinely committed to supporting the needs of others with unquestionable integrity. Proven experience in automotive service, garage management, or MOT centre management. Strong working knowledge of MOT, servicing, repairs, tyres and diagnostic processes. Experience managing a team in a busy workshop environment. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong organisational and multitasking ability. Competent with computers and garage management systems. Full UK driving licence.

Ideal Qualifications (BNE)



NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Technician

or equivalent.

MOT Testing Licence

(or willingness to obtain). (Not Essential) Experience across multiple makes/models. Multilingual skills are a bonus.

Able to analyse workshop performance and implement improvements. Calm under pressure and confident in a fast-paced environment.
