We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Garden Centre Manager to oversee daily operations at our vibrant garden centre in Glenavy. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for horticulture, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively. Duties

Manage daily operations of the garden centre, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning Lead and motivate a team of staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment Provide expert advice on gardening, horticulture, and plant care to customers Organise stock levels, merchandising displays, and product placement to maximise sales Work with management on procurement, inventory management, and stock replenishment programmes Develop promotional activities and organise seasonal events to attract customers Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation within the centre Train staff on product knowledge, customer service skills, and health & safety procedures

Qualifications

Proven experience in horticulture or gardening retail management Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively Excellent communication skills in English Knowledge of merchandising principles and stock management systems Passion for plants, gardening, and horticulture with a desire to share expertise with customers Previous leadership experience in retail or customer service environments is desirable Ability to work flexibly including weekends during peak seasons

Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: 12.72-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
