Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Garden Centre Manager to lead our team at our location in Alderholt. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for gardening and horticulture, combined with strong organisational and communication skills. Duties

Manage daily operations of the garden centre, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning Lead and motivate a team of staff, providing training and support as needed Oversee stock levels, merchandising, and presentation to optimise sales and visual appeal Assist customers with gardening advice, product selection, and horticultural queries Coordinate deliveries and liaise with suppliers to maintain stock availability Organise promotional events and seasonal displays to attract customers Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation within the centre Monitor sales performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement

Experience

Proven experience in gardening or horticulture and plant care is essential; knowledge of landscape design is advantageous Previous managerial or supervisory experience within a retail or garden centre environment is preferred Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Excellent communication skills are highly valued Familiarity with merchandising principles to optimise product displays and customer engagement Passion for gardening, plants, and outdoor aesthetics with a keen eye for detail Qualifications relating to garden centre functionality, such as forklift licence and spraying qualifications are highly desired.
