Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Garden Centre Supervisor to work within our Garden Sundries department.

The role will involve working primarily in our Shop Sundries department. This area contains Non Plant Horticultural and Garden Products.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of the Sundries department. Train and mentor staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service strategies. Help to manage inventory levels, including stock management and ensuring products are displayed attractively. Assist customers with their gardening needs, providing expert advice on Garden Sundries and other areas of the Garden Centre product range. Develop promotional displays to enhance sales performance. Maintain a clean and organised environment in both the indoor and outdoor areas of the garden centre where your products are displayed and sold. Collaborate with management to implement policies and procedures that improve operational efficiency. At different times of year, you will be required to work in and with different product areas to help with the seasonality of the Garden Centre trade. Christmas and Garden Leisure are big parts of our business and you will need the ability to switch between areas as necessary.

Skills

Strong knowledge of gardening practices and plant care. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and staff alike. Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced environment. The ability to work with different products and teams throughout the year is essential.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
