We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener/Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in gardening, horticulture, landscape, and maintenance of an older building, with hands-on experience using both hand and power tools. This role is essential for ensuring the upkeep of our gardens and outdoor spaces, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the environment.
Responsibilities
undertake all routine and developmental gardening duties, including the maintenance of the grass areas, plant and maintain the flower, and shrub borders and containers, fruit trees and bushes, vegetable area, and the propagation of bedding plants. Sweep the front driveway, clean the culverts.
Utilise hand tools and power tools for various gardening tasks such as planting, pruning, and weeding.
Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution across all landscaped areas.
Support the growing process by monitoring plant health and assisting with pest control measures.
Collaborate with team members to execute landscape maintenance projects efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
Maintain all garden furniture and outbuild
Experience
Previous experience in gardening or horticulture is highly desirable.
Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices and techniques.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Knowledge of irrigation systems is an advantage.
