Are you passionate about horticulture and looking for a role where your skills make a meaningful impact? The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is seeking a dedicated Gardener to help honour and maintain the resting places of Commonwealth forces who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars.


About the Role:

As a gardener, you'll play a vital part in preserving the beauty and dignity of Brookwood Military Cemetery and our memorials. You'll carry out a wide range of gardening duties, from turf culture and planting to machinery maintenance and pest control. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining high standards.


What You'll Do:




Undertake horticultural maintenance, renovation, and caretaking duties (mowing, edging, hedge cutting, weeding, pruning, pesticide application) Plan and organise your daily workload, including ordering plants, chemicals, and equipment Operate and maintain machinery and vehicles safely Report structural defects and environmental changes to management Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times Use IT and smart technology for routine administrative tasks Represent the Commission at ceremonies and assist visitors in locating war graves

What We're Looking For:




NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture or equivalent experience Practical experience in horticulture or gardening Good organisational and time management abilities Commitment to our values: Commitment, Ambition, Respect, and Excellence
