Garment Technologist
Leicester Full Time
Are you passionate about garment technology? This role offers the opportunity to work with a small, friendly womenswear supplier who works with a broad range of well-known high street retailers.
The role is full time, and the successful candidate will take control of all aspects of garment technology in close collaboration with design.
The role would suit a technologist with over 4 years experience who wants to use their skills to take this area of the business and run with it; managing and moving garment technology forward to continually improve product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of garment technology role using autonomy to manage workload.
• Work closely with colleagues in design and production to provide quality products for customer.
• Working knowledge of pattern cutting ideally with Gerber or Vetigraph.
• Experience with Jersey, Woven occasion wear, Soft tailoring.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing market and supply options within in.
• Working closely with overseas suppliers.
• Managing fitting and grading.
• Knowledge of customer standard/manual/ testing requirements to push forward excellence.
• Identifying improvements and taking corrective action.
• Minimising returns and cost of quality through effective supplier/product management.
• Ensuring timely product progression in line with project timelines-critical path.
• Commercial understanding of the market.
