Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Menswear Garment Technologist to join our dynamic product development team. This role will focus on ensuring the fit, size, and function of garments from concept to final product, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the high standards expected of the Represent brand. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of the garment development process alongside the Senior Garment Tech, from establishing fit blocks and grading to assisting fit sessions and collaborating with suppliers.

Main Accountabilities



Assist in ensuring the fit, size, and function of styles throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to final launch. Establish and maintain accurate fit blocks and technical standards for the Represent brand, ensuring consistency and quality across all products. Create precise size charts and consistent grading specifications, integrating these into tech packs for suppliers to ensure correct production. Collaborate with the product team to meet all critical path milestones, including tech pack completion and sample deadlines, while ensuring smooth communication and timely delivery. Contribute to bringing market-ready, high-quality products to life, adhering to Represent's engineering and fit-for-purpose standards. Support and assist Senior Garment Tech in prototype reviews, size set, PP, and production sample meetings, driving the fit process to ensure garments meet the highest standards. Provide clear and detailed feedback to factories. Work closely with the product team, Alongside Senior garment tech to develop new garment specifications and collaborate to determine optimal fabric and trim combinations for each product. Manage day-to-day Garment Tech operations to meet the goals and objectives set by the Senior Garment tech, aligning with the broader company vision. Independently plan and prioritize your own workload, ensuring tech packs meet the highest standards (in collaboration with Product Development) and are accurately translated by factories into quality first prototypes. Coordinate daily communication with suppliers, including follow-ups on fit samples and addressing any issues or delays in the sample process. Conduct thorough reviews of all submitted samples, ensuring that they meet Represent's high standards for fabric quality, construction, and fit. Provide technical expertise to ensure that all garments are fit for purpose, from design concept through to the final product. Maintain and update the PLM system to ensure accurate and up-to-date technical information is always available. Analyse AQL reports and take proactive steps to report and address any issues or discrepancies in product quality to senior Garment Tech. Some travel internationally to visit factories maybe required, alongside a team member, to ensure production quality and resolve any technical issues on-site. Stay informed about factory shipment dates and coordinate to ensure timely delivery of products. Communicate any updates on fit or technical specifications to the e-commerce team to ensure accurate product descriptions online and help minimize returns.

Key Skills



Luxury mindset with commercial awareness. Collaborative, non- political approach Appropriate qualification in apparel sector or equivalent work experience Experience working with global apparel brands Excellent garment construction and engineering skills. Ability to measure and grade to a high standard. Sound understanding of fabrics and testing methods. Knowledge of pattern making essential Demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving Flexible and open to evolving business needs and priorities Strong commercial awareness with an ability to identify risk and confidently provide solutions Experience in a fast-paced environment Extensive knowledge of Excel & PLM Hands on approach. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of PLM is advantageous
