Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in various fitting techniques. This role involves working with metal components and requires the ability to read technical drawings, as well as a solid understanding of welding processes. The Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all assemblies meet quality standards and are completed in a timely manner.

Duties

Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications to assemble components accurately. Use hand tools and machinery effectively to build and maintain metal structures or components. Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure adherence to specifications. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health and safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes. Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during assembly.

Experience

Proven experience as a Commercial Fitter or in a similar role within the manufacturing or engineering sector is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems and components. Familiarity with welding techniques, including stick welding, is essential. Experience using hand tools and machinery safely and effectively. Ability to plumb components accurately for optimal assembly. A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and techniques in fitting. NVQ Level 3, CSCS Card, IPAF Accreditation and clean UK Drivers Licence.
