Job Description

Our company is seeking an experienced and motivated gas main layer who will be responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate laying of the new mains by means of insertion and open cut, along with the coordination of the backfill and reinstatement activity.

We are seeking a dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a good attitude who can lead a team and provide operatives with knowledge of their experience of laying gas mains.

Responsibilities:

Handle the day-to-day workload of the on site operatives to ensure works progress in accordance with the proposed programme. Ensure that all site operatives comply with all safety standards. Ensure that materials are requested in advance from the Operations Manager Manage the operational staff, ensuring that they are performing their jobs efficiently
This role is offered on an employed or self employed basis, this will be the candidates choice.

Qualifications

Proficient in using hand and power tools for gas main installation and repair. Experience operating excavators and performing welding tasks. Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical systems. Ability to work effectively in various outdoor environments and conditions. Commitment to safety protocols and regulations in gas main operations.

Pay: From 25.00 per hour

Experience:

Gas main laying: 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:

SCO Core, SCO Permit to work (CP), SCO Routine Operations (required) Streetworks (NRSWA) card (preferred) Gas main layer qualifications (EUSR card) (required)
