Active Outreach Services is a growing education and mentoring provider dedicated to supporting children and young people with

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

and those unable to access mainstream schooling due to emotional, social, or learning difficulties.

Our mission is to deliver personalised, engaging education that helps every learner build confidence, develop key life skills, and achieve meaningful progress at their own pace.

We are currently seeking qualified and passionate

GCSE

Maths Tutors/Teachers

in the

Peterborough

area (all areas) to provide 1:1 tuition and mentoring to children and young people outside of mainstream education.

The Role

As a GCSE Maths Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve personal and academic goals.

Teaching sessions take place either in learners' homes, local community venues, or online -- depending on the needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver

personalised 1:1 tutoring

in GCSE Maths. Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet each learner's individual needs. Support learners with

functional skills

,

employability

, or

careers guidance

where appropriate. Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and progress. Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate daily session records. Communicate regularly with the Active Outreach Services team to review learner goals and outcomes. Uphold

safeguarding standards

and promote the welfare of all learners at all times.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (

QTS

,

PGCE

, or equivalent teaching qualification*).
Experience supporting children or young people with

SEN

or additional needs. Confident delivering

GCSE-level Maths

content. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organised, reliable, and able to work independently. Enhanced

DBS check

(or willingness to obtain one - applicant to meet the cost). Ability to travel locally within the

Peterborough

area.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 25.00-30.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
