As a Team Leader, you'll lead by example, motivate your team, and ensure the smooth operation of the dessert counter during your shift.
Duties:
Lead and supervise a team of dessert servers, ensuring a high level of customer service and a fun, energetic atmosphere.
Prepare and serve a variety of desserts including
gelato

waffles
,
crepes
,
milkshakes
, and
cold beverages
, ensuring excellent presentation and taste.
Train team members on dessert preparation techniques, order accuracy, equipment operation, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
Stay current with new products and seasonal offerings, providing training and support for smooth execution.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism, ensuring positive resolutions.
Operate equipment such as gelato freezers, waffle irons, crepe griddles, and blenders while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and cleanliness protocols.
Support inventory control, stock replenishment, and preparation for the next shift.
Oversee cash register operations and follow company procedures for accurate cash handling.
Monitor team performance, offer guidance and feedback, and foster a positive, collaborative environment.
Uphold company policies and high service standards, especially during busy hours.
Requirements:
Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role in a dessert bar, cafe, or similar setting.
Hands-on experience preparing waffles, crepes, gelato, or similar desserts is preferred.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills for team leadership and customer interaction.
Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
A creative flair and eye for dessert presentation is a bonus!
Qualifications:
Experience in customer-facing hospitality or food service roles.
Proven ability to introduce and execute new product offerings.
Familiarity with managing stock, inventory, and daily prep needs.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
