General Assistant

Melksham, Wiltshire
Full-time, permanent | 25,000 p.a.
Approx. 37.5 hours per week (flexibility required)

ATB Guitars is one of Europe's leading sellers of high-end vintage guitars specialising in instruments from the 1950s-70s. As part of our exciting expansion, we're relocating our showroom and HQ to Melksham, Wiltshire, and we're looking for a proactive and organised General Assistant to join our friendly, growing team.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll play a key part in the smooth running of the business - whether you're welcoming customers, managing inventory, supporting logistics, updating the website, or helping with social media content.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting the Director with day-to-day operations Greeting visitors and handling phone and email enquiries Keeping the showroom and workspace tidy and welcoming Managing deliveries, packaging, and dispatching orders Maintaining accurate inventory records Compiling regular email newsletters via MailChimp Assisting with website updates, photography, and social media content Providing general administrative support across the business

About You

We'd love to hear from you if you're organised, adaptable, and enthusiastic about helping a small business thrive. Instrument knowledge isn't essential but a general interest in music is preferred.

Essential skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and multitasking ability Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), Excel, Word Attention to detail and accuracy Confidence with social media and content creation Willingness to learn and grow with the role

Desirable skills (not essential):

Interest in guitars and music Photography and/or digital marketing skills Previous office/admin experience Full UK driving licence and valid passport (for occasional travel)
