Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a General Assistant to join our team at one of our independent schools in Woolverstone, IP9.


This is a term-time only position, working 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 3:00pm

As a General Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the school's catering service. You'll work across a variety of areas, including assisting with food preparation, serving meals, and ensuring that dining and kitchen areas are kept clean and safe.


The school provides daily meals for around 600 pupils and staff, as well as catering for occasional school events, so the role is varied and often fast-paced. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Have experience working in a similar role and environment Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy Have excellent customer service and social skills Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff and pupils Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 11 Be customer focused Have basic food knowledge Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
