Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated general builder to join our family run business. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of construction skills and be capable of working on various projects, mainly residential builds. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople.

Duties

Construct, repair, and maintain structures using various materials including wood, masonry, and metal. Perform tasks such as painting, roofing, and plumbing as required by project specifications. Fabricate components and assemble structures according to blueprints and building codes. Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete construction tasks. Weld materials together for structural integrity when necessary. Collaborate with other tradespeople including carpenters, electricians, and masons to ensure project completion on time. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction or a related field is essential. Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment is required. Knowledge of building codes and regulations is advantageous. Skills in painting, masonry, plumbing, fabrication, roofing, electrical work, and carpentry are highly desirable. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team is necessary. Physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods is essential.
