Overview

We are seeking a skilled General Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and be proficient in various techniques and tools. This role involves working on a variety of projects, from fabrication to assembly, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

Fabricate and assemble wooden structures and fixtures according to specifications. Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and joining materials. Perform plumbing tasks as required for installations and repairs. Engage in painting and finishing work to enhance the aesthetic appeal of completed projects. Execute masonry tasks when necessary, ensuring structural integrity and durability. Carry out joinery work with precision, focusing on detail and quality. Assist with electrical installations as needed, adhering to safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools are stored properly after use. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion within deadlines.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in using both power tools and hand tools safely and effectively. Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, including fabrication, assembly, plumbing, painting, masonry, joinery, and basic electrical work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good physical fitness is required for lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
