We're looking for enthusiastic, conscientious, and motivated individuals to join our team as a General Catering Assistant here at the Ulverscroft Grange Tearoom.
Set in beautiful countryside with stunning views over Charnwood our tearoom has a unique atmosphere and is a place where our visitors can relax with family and friends.
A General Catering Assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas and assisting with all aspects of food preparation and service.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1. Core Duties: Kitchen
To assist with the preparation of fresh hot and cold food.
To maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety, and ensure that all equipment is in a clean and safe working order (including daily temperature checks for fridges and freezers and completion of relevant paperwork).
To carry out pot-washing tasks and clean all kitchen equipment (including fridges, freezers and storeroom).
To work alongside staff, volunteers and cleaning staff to implement the Foundations' Health & Safety Policy and ensure that all areas of the kitchens are kept clean, sanitised and tidy throughout the day.
To assist in maintaining adequate stocks of supplies (including placing stock orders as required) and ensuring safe stock rotation in the storeroom, freezers and fridges.
To assist during all visits from the Environmental Health Officer and any other outside agencies.
2. Core Duties: Front of House/Reception
To greet and liaise with individual visitors and visiting groups, ensuring that their dietary needs are catered for where necessary.
To book in customers using the online booking system.
Always deliver excellent standards of customer service by listening, understanding, and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner.
Serving food and drinks to customers, including the use of the barista machine.
Operating the till.
Working hours: 12 hours per week with flexibility to cover absence and holidays.
An application for a DBS certificate must be submitted in the event of the applicant being offered the position.
