We supply high-quality chillies, masa harina, tortillas, and more to retailers, restaurants, wholesalers and home cooks. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and help ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day accounting operations.

Job Summary

As a General Food Production Operative, you will assist in the preparation, packing, and labelling of our food products. You'll help maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring that production targets and food safety standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the production and packaging of food products according to company standards.

Operate machinery (after training) such as mixers, sealers, and weighing equipment.

Measure, mix, and handle ingredients safely and accurately. Pack finished products, apply labels, and prepare items for dispatch. Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet specifications. Clean equipment and work areas to maintain hygiene and food safety. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food hygiene, and health & safety procedures. Maintain accurate records where required (e.g., batch logs, cleaning schedules). Assist with stock rotation and raw material handling. Support other team members and departments when needed.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential). Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided). Ability to work efficiently in a team and follow instructions. Good attention to detail and a proactive attitude. Ability to work on your feet and lift/move items. Strong understanding of health & safety and hygiene requirements.

Working Conditions

Warehouse environment with exposure to food ingredients (e.g., chillies, spices). Physically active role involving standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks. May involve working in temperature-controlled environments. PPE (hairnets, gloves, aprons, etc.) must be worn. Overtime may be available during peak periods. On-site training provided.
