About the role

Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a General Foreman for our A57 Mottram Moor project.




Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities

We provide high quality asset strategy, management and planning consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector customers. We provide specialist, reliable, sustainable and creative advice for asset management planning and implementation in the UK. What you'll be doing



As a

General Foreman

, you will provide supervision of the works and control of a team comprising foremen, gangers and direct labour force. Supervision and control of the works of Subcontractors.


Ensures plant is adequate for the task prior to being used Monitors the performance of plant operators and appointed persons Identify future requirements for setting out and communicate to Engineering team Carries out Independent Inspections of their own section and of others Input into weekly programme and monitor progress against KPI's Validation of labour and plant records to the project cost control procedure


Who we're looking for



You will have the following:


Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card Where possible, adopts an innovative approach to enhancing safe systems of work Experienced in resource allocation Understands and implements the requirements of Inspection and Test Plans Experience of managing the works of direct labour and subcontractors Understands the specific terms, conditions and outputs of relevant subcontractors and suppliers
