We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handy Man to join our team as a subcontractor. The successful candidate will perform general maintenance, repairs, and installations across residential and commercial properties. This role offers flexible job allocation around your schedule, but weekday availability is required. Candidates carrying out electrical works must hold

valid electrical certifications

. The role is ideal for individuals with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks across properties to ensure optimal functionality. Carry out plumbing, carpentry, painting, or other minor building works as needed. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Conduct routine inspections and identify potential hazards or maintenance issues. Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organised work environment. Communicate effectively regarding job progress, client updates, and follow-up needs. Provide professional client service during all maintenance activities.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Handy Man or in a similar maintenance role. Relevant certifications for electrical work (e.g., 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, City & Guilds) are

required

if performing small electrical tasks. Strong knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance practices. Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach. Physical fitness suitable for manual work and occasional heavy lifting. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Valid UK driver's licence preferred for travel between job sites.
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 15.00-30.00 per hour
