We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/ chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and meal assembly are carried out efficiently and safely. Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Support chefs in meal preparation and cooking processes, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained.
- Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is clean and ready for use.
- Participate in the cleaning of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in the plating and presentation of dishes as required.
- Follow instructions from chefs and kitchen managers to ensure smooth operation during service times.
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by communicating effectively with colleagues.
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is preferred; training will be provided as necessary.
- Familiarity with culinary techniques and meal preparation processes would be beneficial.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A team player with good communication skills who can help foster a collaborative kitchen environment.
