We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Person to work at our beautiful 25-bedroom manor house hotel, located in

Upper Slaughter

.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To rectify any maintenance issues within the hotel and staff house (located 4 miles from the hotel) daily basis as agreed by the General Manager. Ensuring the hotel is both safe and functional for our guests, by conducting regular checks. Ensuring the staff house (located 4 miles from the hotel) is safe for staff members. Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel. Supporting in the preventative maintenance and methodical testing of rooms and equipment, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and electrical work. Conducting regular fire alarm tests (both in the hotel and staff house). Carry out structured PPM (Pre-Preventative Maintenance) to a high standard of finish. To ensure that all equipment is operated in line with trained instructions. Respond to maintenance-related call-outs when required. To prioritise and complete all jobs according to departmental standards and within an appropriate timeframe and where this is not possible to ensure that guests and relevant managers are informed. To follow C.O.S.H.H regulations, in particular, the storage of hazardous substances. General maintenance tasks. Identify and report the need for major repairs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU

Must have previous experience in a similar role, ideally from a hotel environment. A good knowledge of Health and Safety. Must have the ability to multi-task and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Good communication. Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Carpentry, or Plumbing qualifications would be advantageous. Current working knowledge of general maintenance and engineering work. Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes.
