to lead one of Birmingham's premium restaurants. Kabuli Restaurant is a premium restaurant serving authentic Afghani cuisine located in Moseley. This role is all about being on the floor, driving service standards, and growing the business. You'll lead by example, ensuring guests enjoy an outstanding experience, while developing and inspiring your team to deliver consistently excellent hospitality. Alongside daily operations, you'll also play a key role in promoting the restaurant locally, building its reputation in the community, and increasing sales.
Duties
Lead day-to-day operations on the floor, ensuring smooth service and a welcoming guest experience.
Be a visible, approachable leader who motivates and supports the team during service.
Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to
manage food quality standards
that reflect the restaurant's premium positioning.
Drive local marketing initiatives and partnerships to raise the restaurant's profile and grow customer loyalty.
Implement strategies to
increase average spend per guest
through upselling, premium service, and tailored guest experiences.
Monitor business performance, identifying opportunities to grow sales and manage costs effectively.
Recruit, train, and mentor staff, building a strong team culture focused on service and hospitality.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Maintain the presentation, cleanliness, and atmosphere of the restaurant to the highest standards.
Experience & Skills
Previous General Manager experience within the restaurant industry
-- ideally in a premium or branded casual dining environment.
A hands-on leadership style -- confident leading from the floor, engaging with guests, and supporting the team.
Strong understanding of what great customer service looks like in a premium venue.
Commercial awareness, with proven ability to grow revenue and
increase average spend per guest
.
Ability to plan and deliver local marketing and community engagement initiatives.
Financial awareness, with experience managing budgets and improving profitability.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
A genuine passion for hospitality, with the energy and presence to inspire others.
