About the Role
This is a senior leadership role, responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations within the business -- from reactive and planned maintenance to project delivery -- while also driving commercial growth and client satisfaction.
You'll lead a small, talented team, ensuring jobs are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably. You'll also take an active role in developing new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and shaping the future direction of the company alongside the Directors.
It's a hands-on, varied position ideal for someone with strong operational experience in Facilities Management who enjoys combining leadership, business development, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee all operational functions across reactive, planned, and project works.
Lead, motivate, and develop office and field teams to deliver exceptional service.
Ensure all jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Maintain compliance with health and safety, quality, and environmental policies.
Monitor KPIs, service levels, and financial performance across contracts.
Commercial & Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the FM and maintenance sector.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring repeat and referral business.
Support the tendering and quoting process for new contracts and project work.
Work with the Managing Director to shape pricing strategies and service offerings.
Attend client meetings, site visits, and networking events to promote the company.
Strategic Support
Contribute to the long-term growth and development strategy of the business.
Help streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
Provide input into recruitment, training, and succession planning.
Represent the company's values and uphold its reputation in all interactions.
What We're Looking For
Strong background in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, or a related operational leadership role.
Proven ability to manage teams and deliver high-quality service across multiple clients and sites.
Experience in business development, client retention, or contract management.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Commercially minded, confident in managing budgets and driving profitability.
Proactive problem solver with a hands-on approach.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 and CAFM systems (Joblogic or similar).
