Job Overview

The Royal Oak and Street Restaurant are a unique and vibrant partnership in the heart of Earlsdon, Coventry.

The Royal Oak is a beloved traditional pub at the centre of the local community.

Street, our modern smokehouse restaurant next door, provides bold BBQ-led food for its own guests and serves into The Oak, creating a seamless food and drink experience across both venues.

We're looking for a capable and ambitious General Manager to lead the next chapter of these two dynamic, independent sites. This is a full-time role with real responsibility and influence - perfect for someone ready to make their mark in a busy, people-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

As General Manager, you'll be responsible for:

- Overseeing all aspects of daily operations across both The Royal Oak and Street

- Leading and developing the management, front-of-house and kitchen teams

- Managing financial performance, including revenue growth and cost control

- Delivering consistently excellent customer service and guest satisfaction

- Ensuring clear operational systems, rotas, and procedures are in place and followed

- Handling supplier relationships, ordering and inventory control across both sites

- Scheduling and overseeing Street kitchen and FOH teams

- Managing staff recruitment, training, and performance reviews

- Driving marketing, events, and promotions to increase footfall and brand presence

- Upholding full Health & Safety, food safety, and licensing compliance

- Acting as the primary leader and point of contact across both businesses

What we're looking for

- Minimum 2 years in a senior hospitality management role

- A proactive leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Confidence in managing multiple departments and fast-paced service periods

- Proven ability to meet targets, manage costs, and drive profitability

- A genuine passion for hospitality, food, and people

- Understanding of hospitality software systems (POS, rota, stock etc.)

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as needed

Working Hours & Flexibility

This is a full-time position based on a 45-hour working week, with a salary of 32,000 calculated accordingly.

We understand that hours can fluctuate in hospitality:

- During busy periods, additional hours may be required - these will be paid pro-rata based on the equivalent hourly rate.

- In quieter spells, a flexible approach may allow for shorter weeks, with the wage adjusted to reflect hours worked.
