Plaquemine Lock is a Louisiana-inspired pub with Michelin Bib food, live music and quality drinks. We are completely independent and therefore completely free to choose drinks and service standards. Our owner is Jacob Kenedy of Bocca di Lupo, and while we are a separate and different business we strive for the same level of quality.
We have had a great year so far. We're consistently busy, beating budgets and constantly improving our offering. We've achieved that with a general manager that's also the head chef and the business manager, now is time to see what can be achieved with dedicated department heads.
As General Manager, you would be responsible for
the restaurant floor team
the character of our service with emphasis on quality and consistency
the bar team
drink ordering and GP
keeping rotas on budget
finding effective means to develop and improve the customer experience and your team
keeping the till updated to match the menu
maintenance of payment equipment
coordinating group bookings and events
adhering to our license and policy
Requirements
Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality sector, preferably in both restaurant and bar settings
Excellent leadership skills with a track record of supervising teams effectively
Exceptional organisational abilities with attention to detail
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and customers alike
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
Ability to identify and squash variances
