Believe is seeking a marketing-driven General Manager to join an exciting
new joint venture label
.
This role demands a results-oriented leader who can orchestrate comprehensive marketing campaigns, manage internal and external teams, and build powerful external partnerships to drive commercial success across multiple genres.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to build and develop a brand new record label from the ground up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Leadership & Campaign Management
Lead marketing strategies across all releases, ensuring maximum commercial impact
Develop and execute multi-platform marketing campaigns spanning digital, traditional, and emerging channels
Drive innovative marketing initiatives that position the label as a forward-thinking industry leader
Monitor and analyse campaign performance, implementing data-driven optimisations
External Partnership & Plugger Management
Build and maintain strategic relationships with external marketing teams, radio pluggers, and promotion specialists
Coordinate with PR agencies, digital marketing specialists, and influencer agencies and networks
Manage relationships with playlist curators, radio programmers, and streaming platform representatives
Negotiate and oversee contracts with external marketing service providers
Ensure seamless collaboration between internal teams and external partners
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Set clear performance targets and KPIs for team members, driving accountability and excellence
Foster a culture of innovation and commercial success within the marketing department
Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members
Lead regular team meetings and strategic planning sessions
Business Development
Promote the JV label to potential artists, managers, and industry partners
Develop pitch materials and presentations that showcase the label's capabilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Build the label's reputation and visibility within the industry
Qualifications
Marketing Expertise
Demonstrable, strong experience in senior marketing roles within the music industry
Proven track record of successful marketing campaigns across multiple genres
Deep understanding of digital marketing platforms, streaming services, and social media strategies
Experience with traditional marketing channels including radio, press, and live promotion
Knowledge of marketing budget management and ROI measurement
External Team Management
Demonstrable experience managing external marketing teams, pluggers, and promotional partners
Ability to coordinate multiple external partners simultaneously
Experience in performance management of external contractors and agencies
Leadership & Motivation
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing marketing teams
Experience in setting and achieving ambitious commercial targets
Strong coaching and mentoring skills to drive team performance
Ability to create and maintain a positive, results-driven team culture
Industry Knowledge
Comprehensive understanding of the UK music market and international opportunities
Strong network of industry contacts across marketing, promotion, and media sectors
Knowledge of music industry trends, consumer behaviour, and emerging platforms
Experience with release planning and campaign timeline management
DESIRABLE
Experience with music analytics platforms and data interpretation
Knowledge of sync licensing and brand partnership opportunities
Understanding of emerging technologies in music marketing
