We are now seeking a

General Manager

to act as a trusted right hand to the Founder & CEO, ensuring the smooth operation and continued scaling of the business as we grow domestically and internationally.

Role Purpose

The General Manager will serve as a

junior CEO

- a strategic operator and dynamic executor who ensures Packamama runs efficiently across commercial, operational, and corporate functions. This person will work closely alongside Santiago in County Hall, London, managing the daily rhythm of the company and driving forward key initiatives in sales, finance, legal, recruitment, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

Act as the operational extension of the Founder & CEO, ensuring alignment, follow-through, and accountability across all departments.

Oversee company priorities, project plans, and deliverables, ensuring commitments are met on time and to standard.

Lead internal meetings and represent the CEO where appropriate.

Manage recruitment processes and HR administration, ensuring the team scales effectively with the business.

Commercial & Business Development

Support or lead client and partner engagements, including key retail, brand, and producer accounts.

Contribute to business development activities, pipeline tracking, and conversion planning.

Attend meetings and industry events with the CEO, both in the UK and abroad.

Finance & Legal

Work with accountants and advisors on financial management, reporting, budgeting, and cash flow.

Review contracts, NDAs, and legal documents, ensuring compliance and attention to detail.

Track and oversee grants, investor relations, and funding initiatives.

Operations & Administration

Coordinate daily business operations, ensuring smooth communication and workflow.

Liaise across teams and suppliers, ensuring clarity and accountability in deliverables.

Handle sensitive or confidential matters with discretion and precision.

Person Specification

Essential Attributes

Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in a fast-moving, high-responsibility environment with minimal bureaucracy.

Strong analytical and numerical ability (background in maths, economics, finance, engineering, or similar advantageous).

Meticulous attention to detail - no tolerance for sloppiness or carelessness in work.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident, positive, and professional manner.

Ability to multitask and prioritise across numerous domains - from commercial to legal to HR.

A love of business and curiosity about how companies work and succeed.

Desirable Experience

3-8 years' professional experience, ideally blending entrepreneurial ventures with exposure to structured organisations.

Experience in wine, packaging, sustainability, or FMCG sectors is advantageous but not essential.

Demonstrated success in managing people, projects, or small businesses.

Experience working closely with founders or senior executives.

Working Style

Based full-time at Packamama's office in County Hall, South Bank (next to London Eye).

Regular collaboration with the Founder & CEO, including joint travel to key meetings and events.

Hands-on, can-do attitude; equally comfortable with high-level strategy and day-to-day delivery.
