The role
Bon Appetit is seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead the day to day operations of our catering services at a key construction site in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader with a background in contract catering, hospitality, or facilities management to take ownership of an essential frontline service within a fast-paced and people-focused environment.
You will be the face of our catering operation onsite, responsible for ensuring smooth service delivery, managing onsite teams, maintaining compliance and exceeding client expectations. If you thrive in a role where operational excellence and people leadership are key, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing
Overseeing all onsite catering activities, ensuring efficient, high-quality service to construction site teams
Managing and motivating onsite staff, promoting a positive and productive working culture
Maintaining strict compliance with food safety, health and safety regulations and government nutritional standards
Acting as the main client liaison, building strong relationships with project managers, contractors and suppliers
Monitoring and controlling stock levels, ordering supplies, and managing inventories efficiently
Handling staffing schedules, recruitment support and team performance reviews in collaboration with the senior operations team
Identifying and resolving operational challenges proactively and professionally
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to business development ideas
Ensuring financial controls are maintained, including cost control and budget adherence
What we're looking for
Experience:
Background in General Management or similar within contract catering, hospitality or Business & Industry sectors
Enhanced Security Clearance:
You will be required to undergo an enhanced security clearance process
Leadership:
Strong people management skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team
Customer focused:
Confident and professional communicator with clients and stakeholders
Organised and practical:
Able to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and solve problems quickly
Compliance oriented:
Solid understanding of food hygiene, health & safety standards and operational compliance
Adaptable:
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, site based environment with changing priorities
