Operative
This is an opportunity to work in a busy plastic recycling company. We are committed to providing a high level of service to our customers and supplying quality recycled materials.
You will be working as part of a team, and working individually. The qualities we seek from the successful applicants are punctuality, hard working, and the ability to use initiative.
Apprenticeships available in some cases.
Pay and Hours of Work
Monday to Thursday: 8am - 5pm. Friday: 8am-4pm.
39 paid hour/ week.

Responsibilities

Running the processing lines. This involves the handling of plastic scrap onto conveyors or into granulators for the purpose of reprocessing the material into chip form. There are various lines for different plastic materials. Running the baling line. This involves the packing of loose polythene film in bale form. Quality control. The operative will be directly responsible for the materials they are processing. This involves quality control to remove any contamination or different plastic materials where required. Full training will be provided. Directly responsible for carrying out safety checks on all equipment that is to be used. Full training provided. Responsible for cleaning and keeping communal areas tidy. Yard work. Sweeping, and general tidying of work areas. Sorting of plastic before processing.
There are no essential skills required. Full training is provided . FLT licence is a bonus. The job is performed within the normal factory environment which exposes the job holder to constant dust, dirt, and noise. PPE is provided. All plastic waste is first generation, this means that the plastic is not dirty itself and requires minimal sorting. Minimum production levels required. The job can be physically demanding.
