Overview

We are looking for a reliable and professional general operative or gate person to take responsibility for the operation of a small site gatehouse. This is a key role in maintaining security, controlling access, and ensuring smooth day-to-day site operations. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, have clear communication skills, and hold a valid CSCS card or equivalent competency.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the gatehouse, ensuring all visitors, staff, and vehicles are signed in and out of site. Operate radios and communicate clearly with site teams and delivery drivers. Oversee deliveries, ensuring vehicles are directed safely and records are accurately maintained. Maintain visitor and delivery logs in line with site procedures. Support general site activities when required, which may include duties outside of the gatehouse, on a construction site Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of personnel on site.

Requirements

Valid CSCS card (or recognised equivalent). SIA qualification desirable but not essential Clear spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively by radio and in person. Strong attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently. Previous experience in a gateperson, security, or site operative role is desirable but not essential. Working under CIS or Self Employed (Ltd Company)

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday: 06:30 - 17:30
Job Types: Temporary, Fixed term contract, Freelance
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 12.21-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 55 per week
