We're looking for a proactive General Operative to join our friendly and hard-working workshop team, playing a key role in the day-to-day running of our production space and supporting the manufacture of our bespoke children's play equipment.

The Role:
As a General Operative, you'll support our workshop team by helping maintain a tidy, organised, and efficient working environment. You'll assist joiners with hands-on tasks such as sanding, prepping, and cutting timber, while also handling key operational duties like booking out pallets, managing deliveries, and ensuring accurate records are maintained. You'll also be responsible for using a forklift truck to safely load parcels and products onto the delivery lorry. This is a varied and rewarding role that would suit someone who enjoys a mix of practical and admin-based tasks, and who takes pride in being a vital part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Wrap and book out completed pallets ready for delivery
Use our internal software to input a range of data, including delivery images, packing records, and collection dates
Safely operate a forklift truck to load parcels and products onto the delivery lorry
Assist with general workshop duties such as sanding, cutting, and preparing timber alongside our joiners
Ensure all deliveries are received and stored in the correct location
Keep the workshop clean, tidy, and well-organised
Monitor and report on stock levels, helping ensure materials and tools are always readily available
Work closely with other team members to maintain a smooth production process
Follow all health and safety procedures and support safe working practices throughout the workshop
Carry out general ad hoc duties as required to support the wider team and daily operations
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience in a workshop, warehouse, or hands-on operational role is preferred
Good level of physical fitness and willingness to take on manual tasks
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident using computers or tablets for inputting data and images
Ideally hold a forklift truck licence - not mandatory*, as training will be provided for the right candidate A full UK driving licence is essential
A proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to support others
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards
