General Operative (Steel):

As a Yard Operative you will be expected to perform a number of general duties as per the business requirements, which include:

Fork Lift / Side Loader movements

Load and unload stock material ready for processing / fabrication

Assisting in the operating of straightening and camber presses

Assisting in the operating of T splitting manual machine

Yard movements of steel stock (plates/beams/columns)

Internal material movement using overhead crane

Occasional use of handheld power tools (grinder/drill)

General housekeeping yard and workshop upkeep

About You:

This position requires a positive and enthusiastic individual who is able to follow clear instructions and work independently to achieve set tasks. The successful candidate will be physically fit and familiar working in a fast-paced construction steel environment.

The individual must have a flexible and dynamic approach to working hours be willing and able to commit to overtime when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

Fork Lift Truck Licence (B1 / B3) and have a minimum of 1 year's fork lift driving experience

Side Loader Licence (C1) desirable

Experience in the steel industry, with an understanding of material specifications and dimensions

Overhead Crane

Must have strong written and spoken English.

You will have excellent time keeping, positive attitude, ability to work independently

Monday - Friday

6AM - 2PM

Overtime is available during the week and occasional weekends

Permanent contract after successful probation period.

Paid breaks

Pay: 24,960.00-32,964.00 per year
