Practice Nurse (Part-Time)

Dudley Wood Surgery is seeking an experienced and motivated

Practice Nurse

to join our friendly and supportive GP surgery team on a part-time basis.

Working Hours

Wednesday:

8:00am - 6:00pm (

30-minute unpaid break

)

Thursday:

12:00pm - 6:00pm

Total working hours:

15.5 hours per week

Start Date:

Mid-January

Role Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong

general practice nurse skills

and a good knowledge of

chronic disease management

. Telephone and face-to-face consultations are a key part of the role, so excellent communication skills and a patient-focused approach are essential.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

Chronic disease management including

Asthma, COPD and Diabetes

Cervical Cytology

Childhood Immunisations

Travel Vaccinations

Family Planning

Respiratory care

(spirometry training preferred)

Wound Care

Removal of Sutures

Injections and vaccinations

in line with the national immunisation programme General nursing duties as required Provide comprehensive nursing care within the GP surgery setting Deliver health education and counselling to patients and their families Maintain accurate clinical records using

EMIS

Conduct

telephone and face-to-face consultations

Requirements

Registered Nurse with

current NMC registration

Fully trained Practice Nurse Previous experience working in a

primary care or GP surgery

setting (highly desirable) Sound knowledge of general practice nursing procedures and best practices Competent in patient assessment and management of common health conditions Proficient in administering medications and treatments Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organisational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Familiarity with

EMIS
