Practice Nurse - Leslie Medical Practice

This role is a 6 month fixed term contract (with potential for permanent role).

A temporary, part-time opportunity has arisen within Leslie Medical Practice for a committed and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our Nursing Team. We are looking for a highly motivated and adaptable team player with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and IT skills. You should be comfortable accepting responsibility, be able to work independently and have the ability to prioritise.

Leslie Medical Practice is 3.5 WTE GP Partner practice. We are a friendly, supportive and stable semi-rural GP Practice in Fife with modern, purpose built premises. We have a current patient population of over 6700 and use EMIS and Docman clinical systems. We are a SCOTGEM training practice and have been involved in teaching Medical Students from the University of St. Andrews. We are assisted by our experienced multi-disciplinary team of Practice and District Nurses, Administrative Staff, ANP, Phlebotomist, Mental Health Nursing Team, Midwifery Team and Pharmacy Team.

Applicants must hold a registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and previous experience within a primary care setting is essential. General Practice Nurse duties include triage, wound care management, ear syringing, spirometry, urinalysis, BP monitoring, injections, venepuncture, ECGs, cervical cytology, warfarin monitoring and Long Term Conditions management.

This is a part-time post, temporary for 6 months with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will be working closely with three experienced Practice Nurses and four GP Partners. The post offers 15 hours per week with some flexibility as to how this is structured. A flexible approach to working hours will be necessary to ensure adequate cover during periods of annual leave and sickness within the Nursing team.

Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours.
