Job Title: General Practice Nurse

Salary: Competitive, based on experience - equivalent to Band 6/7

Reports to: Practice Manager / GP Partner
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated General Practice Nurse to join our well established and friendly primary care team. You will work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary environment to provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to our diverse patient population.
We are a high achieving (hopefully soon to be) training practice with a hard working team looking after more than 19, 500 patients in Watford.
We are committed to providing high quality care to our patients, with excellent team working and support for all our staff.
While it is desirable for candidates to be an Independent Prescriber, this is not essential, and training or mentorship may be offered to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide general nursing services, including chronic disease management (e.g. asthma, diabetes, hypertension).
Undertake immunisations and vaccinations, cervical cytology, wound care, family planning support, and health promotion.
Support patients in the management of long-term conditions through nurse-led clinics and reviews.
Participate in screening and preventative health programmes.
Collaborate with GPs and the wider clinical team to deliver coordinated care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using clinical systems.
Provide support and advice to patients on lifestyle, health conditions, and self-care.
All duties will be carried out in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and with regard to the relevant practice protocols.
Desirable (but not essential):
Independent Nurse Prescriber qualification (V300)
If not currently a prescriber, we are open to supporting future training and development for the right candidate.
Essential Requirements:
Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
Experience in a primary care or community healthcare setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Commitment to professional development and clinical governance.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Chronic disease management experience (e.g. diabetes, COPD, cardiovascular conditions).
Cervical screening certification.
Experience using primary care clinical systems
Health promotion and patient education experience.
