Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. This role is essential in ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking. Support chefs with cooking tasks, including chopping, mixing, and plating dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations throughout all kitchen operations. Help with catering events as required, setting up and serving food to guests. Participate in inventory management by assisting in stock rotation and reporting any shortages to the kitchen supervisor. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable. Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques are preferred. Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards is essential. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and customer. A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various kitchen tasks as needed.
