General Site Labourer / Maintenance Person

This is a permanent position, subject to a 3-month trial period.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Day-to-day shop floor support and site maintenance, as training allows.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties are assigned by the QC/H&S Manager in conjunction with the Production Manager's requirements. To assist in production operations as required & training allows. Forklift truck driver - moving materials, fabrications & assembly jobs into stock / process locations. Removal of all general, hazardous & recyclable waste to the required bins / skips. Pallet movement for painted products, warehouse recycled & scrap pallets. Maintenance duties are varied and as required. (Painting, cleaning, changing light bulbs, fixing door fittings, fixing flooring and ceiling cladding, office furniture building, Item removal & repairs, basic plumbing, waste management and many more as required). Cover for cleaners if required in their absence. Machine maintenance, all machinery & equipment used on site is checked & maintained in a good, clean & safe working condition by the site maintenance person, this is done using checklist issued on a monthly basis to ensure the equipment is within schedule. The checklist is used as evidence of this operation

MAIN TASKS

Forklift truck driving. Shop floor support in all required departments as training allows. Material handling. Equipment & machinery maintenance, repairs, cleaning, functional checks & safety inspections as training allows. Site maintenance, area cleaning maintenance & waste management. Other tasks as requested by the Guyson Business.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Accredited forklift truck driver training within the last 3 years & have remained a regular FLT driver. Experience or a good understanding in manufacturing processes. Experience in general site maintenance. (DIY level) Knowledge and experience in quality control / Health & Safety. Self-motivated, ability to work alone or as part of a team. Good communication skills.

HOURS

39 hours per week Monday to Thursday - 7.15 am - 4.15 pm, with a half hour lunch break and a 10-minute morning break Friday - 7.15 am to 12.15 pm
