We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Operative to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various operational tasks, including materials handling, stock management, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the warehouse environment as well as providing sales and customer service support in our on site showroom. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge to develop their skills further in a dynamic setting. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to contribute to efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
Managing stock levels through accurate picking and packing of orders
Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
Stocking shelves, organising storage areas, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance or minor repairs as required
Supporting overall warehouse operations by load handling, movement of goods, and supporting team members during busy periods
Providing sales support in our showroom
Experience
Previous warehouse experience is preferred, particularly in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or stock management
Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of warehouse management systems is desirable to efficiently manage inventory data
Experience in picking & packing, stocking, and quality control processes will be highly valued
Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment maintenance is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during load & unload activities
Proven ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and safety standards

Pay: From 12.50 per hour
