The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with GIS software, spatial databases, and geospatial analysis, and can support both technical development and domain-specific spatial problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and manage GIS databases and geospatial data pipelines
Perform spatial analysis and geoprocessing to support project goals and decision-making
Develop custom GIS tools and applications using Python, JavaScript (ArcGIS API, Leaflet, etc.), or similar technologies
Create high-quality maps, visualizations, and reports for both internal and external stakeholders
Collect, clean, and validate spatial data from various sources (satellite imagery, GPS, survey data, etc.)
Support the integration of geospatial data into business systems, dashboards, and enterprise applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineers, planners, analysts, field teams) to meet geospatial requirements
Stay current with advancements in GIS technologies, open-source tools, and spatial data standards
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field
2+ years of experience in GIS or geospatial engineering roles
Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo)
Strong knowledge of spatial data formats (Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, etc.) and coordinate systems
Experience with spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SpatiaLite)
Scripting/programming skills in Python, SQL, or JavaScript for geospatial tasks
Familiarity with web mapping tools (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers, ArcGIS Online)
Experience with remote sensing and image processing (e.g., using GDAL, ENVI, or Google Earth Engine)
Exposure to cloud-based geospatial platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Esri cloud services)
Familiarity with geospatial APIs and services (WMS, WFS, REST APIs)
Knowledge of data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
Understanding of spatial statistics and geostatistical models
