We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Geotechnical Technician to support our geotechnical and environmental projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analysing soil and material samples, and ensuring quality control in accordance with industry standards. Duties
Collect, prepare, and analyse soil, rock, and other geotechnical samples in accordance with project specifications.
Conduct laboratory tests to determine physical and chemical properties of materials, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as FDA regulations where applicable.
Maintain accurate records of test results using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and prepare detailed reports for project documentation.
Perform quality control checks on samples and testing procedures to ensure data integrity and reliability.
Assist in the development and optimisation of testing protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Support field investigations by setting up equipment, collecting data, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Collaborate with engineers and scientists to interpret test results and contribute to technical reports.
Skills
Proven experience in scientific research within a laboratory setting, preferably in geotechnical or environmental fields.
Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
Proficiency in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data entry, management, and reporting.
Knowledge of quality control procedures to maintain high standards of laboratory testing.
Familiarity with laboratory regulations including FDA standards is advantageous.
Solid mathematical skills for data analysis, calculations, and reporting purposes.
Organised with excellent attention to detail to ensure precision in all tasks undertaken.
