The main responsibility is to work within a multi-disciplinary Wellbeing,Medical, Physical Performance team to assist in delivering support services to girls at Manchester United's Girls Academy (U11s to U15s) to support the psychological welfare of all players.
Principal Accountabilities:
Generic
Ensuring everything is done safely, fairly, effectively, and efficiently.
Responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children and adults at risk.
Specific
Deliver tailored wellbeing programmes for players, staff, and stakeholders in line with club values.
Identify and support risk individuals, offering early intervention and referral to specialist services.
Ensure all wellbeing activities comply with safeguarding, GDPR, and club policies.
Build partnerships with internal departments and external agencies for holistic support services.
Monitor wellbeing outcomes using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Support life skills, education, and post-football transition planning for current and released players.
Provide on-site wellbeing support during training, managing any incidents as needed.
Lead wellbeing awareness initiatives to promote a supportive club environment.
Collect all relevant data, information, and evidence of good practice to support funding conditions
Uphold and promote the Foundation's Safeguarding policy and those of partners, working in conjunction with both Manchester United FC's Safeguarding team and partner leads.

Qualifications
Essential
Relevant qualification in psychology, counselling, mental health, social work, youth work, or a related discipline
Experience of working with young people and/or vulnerable adults in a wellbeing, education, care, or support setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse age groups and backgrounds.
Ability to manage confidential data, write reports, and monitor outcomes
Desirable
FA Learning Safeguarding Children certificate
Any other relevant qualification/course
Training in Mental Health First Aid or trauma-informed practice.
Rationale: Adds depth to reactive response skills in high-pressure or crisis moments. Knowledge of elite or academy sporting environments, including the pressures of high-performance settings.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., alongside coaches, physios, and performance staff).
